I Created 2 Pages Today

That would have to be a first for me in a very long time, to scrap 2 pages in one day.
I did a bit of a catch up with some challenges for the 52 Week Layout group on Facebook.
So for week 10 it is a colour challenge. Don't know if I got the colour exactly correct but I like how this page turned out.

Used SEI Sunkissed paper, Paint, white cardstock, ribbon, Heidi Grace pin, Basic Grey brads, pen, staples, We R Memory Keepers papers & alpha stickers, Cosmo Cricket tiny type, D-Lish resin flower, button, pearl beads, crotchet doily and tag.
Week 11 is a recipe challenge, had to use a piece of string, 2 buttons, 3 photos, 4 flower, a dash of wet medium and a sprinkle of glitter.
So my page...
Used We R Memory Keepers papers, buttons, string, Prima flowers, crotchet flowers, charm, grunge board key, Heidi Swapp plastic alphas, ink and paint.
I think I only have a couple of weeks to catch up with now.
So that is it for me, hope you like and thanks for stopping by ♥

Gosh

What a day we had here yesterday...wild weather caused so much flooding, 400mms of rain was dumped here on the coast in just a matter of hours, with 340mm between 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
My oldest daughter was stranded when she tried to collect Mia from daycare. She had to wade through water that come up over her knees. Then she couldn't get to the school to collect Summah from after school care as her car was surrounded by flood water. And I couldn't help at all as I was flood bound here at home, so many roads cut, the water just come out of nowhere so fast.
All the family are safe now which is the main thing.
Here are some photos.

All these images are from The Sunshine Coast Daily, our local newspaper. You can see more here.
Now the clean up begins!

Chicken Wire

Yep I used chicken wire on a layout.
I wanted to play along with this months Kraft It Up challenge.
The criteria is to use 1 x Kraft paper/cardstock, 2 x photos, 3 x word title, 4 x different pieces of patterned paper, 5 x different embellishments.
I have had a roll of chicken wire sitting in my craft room for a few weeks now and I really wanted to use some of it, so out it came today and this is what I created.
My 5 embellishments are: 1. chicken wire, 2. button, 3. chip arrow, 4. doily and 5. staples [they are there holding the wire to the page].
the wire gives the page a rustic feel, I think.
Products used: Kraft cardstock, Kaiser paper, chicken wire, black cardstock, versa and distress ink, Purple Pumpkin button, crotchet doily, chip arrow, staples, Rose Moka mini alphas, Basic Grey chip alphas and glimmer mist.

Stuck

March 15th sketch.
My mojo seemed to of gone bye,bye so I thought I would give it a kick start by using a sketch, so I played along with a Stuck?! Sketch challenge for this month.
It turned out a bit frillier than I wanted it too. Loved the blue/yellow color combo. I glimmer misted my eyelet lace to give it a bit more depth, plain white just didn't work. Here are a couple of close up images...
Products used: Ruby Rock Avolon Celestial paper, MME Stella Ruby paper and sticker, Glimmer mist: Wheat beer & Bell Bottom Jeans, eyelet lace, ric rac, Prima flowers, stamen, Purple Pumpkin button, Kaiser flowers, Scenic Route chipboard, string, Cosmo Cricket tiny type, Deja Views rubon, Marcella stickers and black cardstock.

Mixed Media Canvas

52 layout group week 7 challenge is to create a mixed media canvas or layout. I nearly had a coronary, I have never created a mixed media project...aaahhhhh!!!!
We were also only allowed to use one color....double aaaahhhh!!!
But after much procrastinating I got stuck into it and created this canvas, don't really know if it is a true mixed media project but I tried.
I covered the canvas with tissue paper to start with, then used a doily, painted chipboard, altered metal, buttons, string, muslin and pearls.
You can find the group here on Facebook.

One Layout To Share Today

I love the sound of the criteria over at White With One challenge blog, so I played along.
You have to create a page using 'white + kraft + layering'.
Doesn't that sound fantastic...so 2 hours later this is what I created.
Here are a few close up to show the layered details.
I rather like the mix of white with kraft.
I used: White cardstock, Kraft paper, MME transparency and part of journal card, Fiskars heart punch, D-lish Kraft tag, chipboard flowers, bird, word and swirl, making memories brads, Heidi Grace pins, lace, ribbon, string, thread, ticket and muslin.
Thanks for stopping by ♥

So what materials did I use: Basic Grey Bittersweet papers, Lil Davis paint, homemade mist, Glimmermist Antique Bronze, ribbon, Kraft tags, pen, string, MME transparencies, Washi tape, A2Z Scraplets chip word, Purple Pumpkin ticket and die cut circle, Echo Park layered chipboard, Studio 12 chipboard bird, Maya Road owl, Webster Pages designer threads, Hero Arts gemstones, American Crafts thickers, Making Memories clip and brads.

Day 5 and 6

these are my photos a day for day 5 and 6.
Day 5 was 'A Smile'.
Photo is the best quality, it was so dark and horrible weather here that my iPhone had trouble taking photos.
Would of taken a photo of my youngest son but he was not in a happy mood, so it was me.
Day 6 today is '5pm'.
This is what I was doing at 5pm...
yep I was chatting online.
So those are my 'March Photo A Day' to date.

Day 2 & 3

These are my photos for day 2 & 3 for a photo a day.
Day 2 was fruit, so while I was out grocery shopping I took this photo of the fruit on sale at my local Woolies supermarket.
I was actually after grapes but guess what they had sold out :( was told they had only purchased 6 boxes...are you kidding me 6 boxes of grapes no wonder they had sold out.
So for day 3 it is your neighborhood. So we live out of town on acreage, so I took a photo of the dirt road we live on.
Love the peaceful rural living but boy does it annoy me when we get lots of traffic using the road, there is a boat ramp at the end of our road that is very popular.
So these are my 2 photos to share with you all, tomorrows photo is 'bedside', could be interesting [have you seen by bedside table, lol]
Thanks for stopping by ♥

Photo A Day

Remember a few posts back I said I was going to do this month, well I have started.
The first challenge is 'up', I took a photo looking up my back steps.
There were so many different options for this challenge, but I decided to go with the steps that I seem to go up and down so many times in a day.
For the first day of autumn it certainly was hot here today, temp was in the low 30C and tomorrow is going to be even worse. Well until next time take care ♥

March Challenge Scrap The Girls

March Scrap The Girl challenge is to scrap a layout about 'Celebrations'. I decided to scrap some of my oldest daughters 21st birthday, some of the photos are a bit embarrassing for her but they are a treasure to me.
Part of the top opens up to reveal some journaling.

I have room to add more photos on the left [when I get more printed].
Thanks for stopping by, love reading your comments ♥
