Gosh last day of March!

This year is just going way to fast.
I have a couple of things to share today both are for challenges over at Scrapz.
The theme this week is 'melancholy'. At first I was stumped with this theme but after a little thought I knew what I was going to do.
First is a card for this weeks noteworthy challenge.
I used some muslin which I sprayed with glimmer mist for the bow, love the soft look it gives the card. Next is my layout for Kerryn's scrap it blind challenge.
My journaling is printed onto masking tape, rather like the look! Made my flowers out of hessian and inked the edges and the leaves are made out of fake leather.
Thanks for stopping by :)

I Forgot This One

I came across this layout that I totally forgot to share with you all.
It was for a What's Cooking challenge over at Scrapz the other week. Had to include an altered background, at least 1 journaling tag, a punched shape and text paper.
Added lots of layering, misting and paint splatter, my favourites at present :)

My First Layout

For Scrapbooking Haven as DT member. Amy sent me lots of yummy goodies from the Kaisercraft Magic Happens range. So first up I created this page using Kaiser blooms Fuschia, Kaiser Magic Happens die cut elements, chipboard and Fairytale paper.

I also used from my own stash Kindy glitter, Queen & co flower brads, Fiskers punch, paint, Hero Arts bling and muslin fabric. Here is a close up of the details.

Final Creations

for Scrapz Uni course. We were all sent an envelope of goodies from Heike. I got lots of Cosmo Cricket Togetherness goodies, plus a few other items. So we had to create a mini layout no bigger than 6'x6' and 3 mini cards...OMG I was totally not sure about this but I did a lot of thinking and this is what I created.
I was rather please with my mini layout turned out, lots of layer to give it a 3D look.
Card 1 is 7.5cm in diameter, I also put a tag inside to write on, well all the cards have tags inside.
 Card 2 and 3 are 10cm x 8cm.
It was very difficult trying to place things on the smaller format on the cards. Oh well all done now, so it is up to the judges to select 2 winners out of the 14 finalist :)

My Layout...

was featured on the Aussie Scrap Source website, woohoo!!!
Do you remember this layout I created a while ago.
Well I sent it to Aussie Scrap Source Blog for a reader challenge: make your own embellishments, and it was featured (you will have to scroll down the page a bit to see it).

Carefree

Lots of new challenges are up over at Scrapz, the theme this week is 'walk in the park'.
First up is Georgia colour challenge, bit with a bit of a twist. We had to use 'gallon, pint, ounce' rule.
The colours are blue, yellow and orange.
So I went with blue as my gallon, yellow as pint and orange for the ounce. Use an old photo of my mum, she was having a ball at the beach.
The card challenge set by Belinda using the theme was to create a card thinking about spring...
I found this Pink Paislee flower stamp in my draw that I have never ever used. Amazing what I find that I have forgot I had, lol...
Hopefully I will have more to share with you soon...

I Made It...

To the final round at Scrapz Uni...
So now I have to wait for my last assignment which is being posted out to me (should be waiting at the post office now)...There are about 12 of us in the last round so wish me luck!

Grand Kids

I used one of Amy's sketches to create this layout, you can find them here at Scrapbooking Haven
I loved working with this sketch and used lots of very old stash. Loved the pink/orange with a splash of white and black colour combo.
So has you can see I use old Heidi Grace and Pink Paislee papers, Heidi Swapp tape, Queen & co, Lil Davis chip shapes, Making Memories brad, Prima, Scenic Route chipboard, KI Memories chipboard, AC thickers, button, ribbon, staples & Kaiser paint.
So why not try using some of those old items you have in your stash, you might be surprised at what you create. Thanks for stopping by :)

Feeding the Pigeons

I have had this photo of my sister for ages and it was perfect for challenge 9 over at Punky Scraps.
Beside the black and white photo you are to include misting, bling, distressing and flowers.
So this is what I created...

I used some of my own handmade misting spray, here is a close up to show you the slight shimmer to the back cardstock.
Lots of distressing, I even distressed the edges of the photo. The bling are the green gems shattered at a few places on the page. It took me a couple of days to create this page and I am happy with the way it turned out.

New DT Position

I have been selected to be on Scrapbooking Haven Design team, woo hoo!!!

You should check out the shop, they have below recommended retail price on stock, which is awesome!!!
I am over the moon, can't wait to get started designing for them :)

The Last One!

This is my last layout for the Scrapz Uni comp.
Sheree set the challenge of scrapping about Medicine, well the only thing that I could think of to scrap about was my recent surgery. The photo was taken a couple of days after the surgery, my youngest son had to help me to change the dressing so he took a photo of the site.
Not 100% happy how this page turned out, but after much moving and procrastination I left it how it was.
So I have completed all the challenges for this comp now, it is just a matter of waiting to see who the winners are...

Creative Arts

Is another of this weeks Uni challenges over at Scrapz.
We had to scrap lift a layout from the Scrapz gallery and to also get some inspiration from Georgia page that she created for this challenge. Well after surfing the gallery for a while I found a layout created by past DT member Deb that I really liked and for the inspiration I got from Georgia's page are the buttons, circles and the ink/paint splatters.
I did some fussy cutting on this page, which I haven't done in ages.
If you want to enter you have until the 16th March to get your creations in. Lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs, plus a guest DT position.
