Journalism

That is one of the Uni course over at Scrapz this week, now this scared me a bit when I first read it but after much thinking it just all seem to fall together. We had to scrap about ourselves.
I did a bit of hybrid scrapping with my photo, used a digital negative film strip. Rather like the effect...
And has you can see I have been playing with my paints again, mind you you should see the floor in my scrapping room. There are paint splatters everywhere, lol!!!
I would like to say thank you for all the lovely comments, much appreciated :)

Our Street

This is another page for 'my place in the sun' album. The view up and down our street, well it really isn't a street more like a road...
Love the Autumn rustic colours on this digital page.

So  these are my 3 layouts for this week.

Week 3

These are my layouts for week 3 of the Uni course over at Scrapz.
First up is Sheree subject - Speech Pathology. We had to scrap a conversation using at least 2 speech bubbles.

I remembered this conversation with my youngest daughter many years ago when she had to dress up like a bumble bee for a school play. Didn't she look cute!
For Belinda's course - Midwifery. We had to scrap about someone who helped us when we had our kids, also had to include at least 4 different patterned papers and some cardstock stickers.

When we lived in town my next door neighbor was a retired RN and she was a fantastic help during all my pregnancies and when the kids were young. We use to call her Auntie Helen even when she wasn't really our Auntie. Sadly she passed away a few years ago :( so she was the perfect choice for this challenge.  The last course was for Kerryn's Food Technology challenge. We had to scrap about something we can't do without in our kitchen and also had to include something you find in the kitchen.
I had a bit of an accident with some chipboard that was on my desk, it got wet. So I dried it with my head gun and you would not believe what happened, the layers peeled apart. So I added some home made glimmer mist and centers, and a whole new look to the chipboard. How cool do they look...
So that is all for today, until next time :)

Another Page

For my album 'My Place in the Sun'. This month is lesson 2 - in the street, we are to look at what happens outside in our street, at neighbors gardens, the postman, children playing, etc...
I decided to start with a page about our postman...
Gosh living on a dirt road certainly has taken it toll on our letter box, the paint is starting to peel off. You can't see our house as it is down behind all the bushes. I used elements from 'The Studio' to create this page.
So do pop over to Jane Blog, it isn't too late to do her year long course.

Graphics & Computer Assignment

for week 2 of Uni studies was set by Belinda. We had to alter our photo is some way, now I don't do much of this so it was a learning curve for me, but this is what I did. I toned down the skin tones and added more shadows to the background. This is my layout...
and a close up of some of the details...

I am really pleased how it turned out :)

Soul Scrapper Glee Club

Week 2 was based on Alternative music, the group 'Train'... after looking at a lot of their album covers and listening to their music I decided to create this digital page.
I used Kaisercraft digital kit, plus a few other elements. You can find all the details of the Glee Club over at Soul Scrappers, lots of fantastic prizes up for grabs.

Week 2 Uni Studies

Yep we are into week 2 of creating layouts for Uni courses over at Scrapz.
There are 3 course challenges this week and I have done 2 of them.
First up is my layout for Georgia 'Neonatal Science' course. We scrap a photo of when we were a baby and we had to add 10 facts relating to our birth and the year we were born to get extra points.
This is the earliest photo I have of me, I was 1 year old with my mum and sister.
I used some Graphic 45 papers that I have had for ages, really love them!
So now on to the next layout, this one was for Sheree 'Horiculutre' course. We had to scrap about our garden, now my garden is not tidy, it is full of weeds at present so I thought why not scrap about the weeds.
We also had to add a frame and at least 6 flowers.

Instead of framing a photo I decided to frame my title.
I am loving doing these challenges, have one more to go for this week.

Digital Challenge

My challenge is up over at Soul Scrappers.
Just create a layout using 'Today is the day' as your title and include journaling so we know why this day is special to you, also add a date of the special event. Too simple!
Here is my sample page...
My first layout of my grand daughter Mia...
This challenge is open to all scrappers, not just digital so traditional and hybid scrappers can participate.
So do pop on over to Soul Scrapper and check out this challenge and all the other challenges there are too.

Mia Lilly

I would like to introduce you to my grand daughter...Mia Lilly
She was born on Friday 4th February at 8.30 am.
She weighed 7lbs 4ozs and was 50.5cm long.
Mia was in a bit of a hurry to arrive and was an unexpected home birth, I helped deliver her into the world.

Mum and Mia are both doing very well and have settled in at home. Summah is so happy to have a baby sister, wants to cuddle her all the time :)
So I have another little girl to spoil, lol!!!

A Valentine and an Addiction!!!

Only 2 layouts to share with you all...
The last of my layouts for week 1 at Scrapz Uni. It was on Media studies, so the photo had to be about communications/modern media. Also the extra criteria was to include a tag and a doodled border.

Next up is my layout for this months poster for From Screen 2 Scrap.
This is the poster...

We had to use black cardstock, a large heart and the word valentine on the layout. So here is mine...

I cut lots of small squares out of patterned paper and glued them onto a heart shape, then I printed lots of small photos of hubby and added these as well... You have all month to take part in this challenge and there are some wonderful prizes up for grabs. Would love to see you take part...

Week 1 of Uni Studies

LOL! No I am not attending Uni as in going to the bricks and mortar building and attending classes, taking exams etc...
I am attending Scrapz Biz University , it is all about creating scrapbooking creations.
So far for week 1 I have done 3 courses:
Behavioural Sciences: extra criteria to use punched elements and stitching, plus journal about behavioural characteristics of someone close to you.
Genealogy studies: extra criteria was to use paint/ink splatters and string, plus a photo of 3 or more generation of the family.
Architecture studies: extra criteria was to use more than 100 words of journaling, I did 167 words which was a first for me, plus a photo of your home or room in your home...

So that is all for now, thanks for stopping by :)
