June 123 Challenge

I decided to have a go at the June 123 challenge this month.
The criteria was to use the word 'Change', the colour blue and to use washi tape.
For the washi tape part I used mine to cover the chipboard I used. I didn't want to just use it as strip on the page. So here is my page...
I used more denim coloured blues, just loved the added yellow and red for that splash of colour. So for the washi tape it is on the tag under the word 'how' and the photo corner on the top right of the page. The word change in  there as well. Just love the denim flower from Purple Pumpkin, sweet!
So I hope you like my page :)

This Was For

a DT position submission but I decided not to apply as I really don't know if I can commit to the commitment they were asking at the present as there are going to be some changes in my life very soon that is going to take up lots of my time, so scrapping might have to take a back seat for a little while, maybe not a complete stop to scrapping but slowing down a lot.
So anyway here is the page I created.
Just love using paint and rubons on my background papers :) Mia was so cute on her 1st birthday eating her cake, she ended up wearing so much of that icing. It took me ages to clean her up but it was worth the enjoyment she got from enjoying her cake.
So thanks for stopping by ♥

52 Layout Group

I created a couple of pages for the weekly challenges for the 52 Layout Group on Facebook.
This first one was for week 21. A recipe challenge to use 4 out of 6 elements, I used doily, material, bakers twine, lace and tickets, the last item on the list was flags which I never used.

Mia was not happy in these photos, poor little tike was so tired when I took these.
Next I did a digital page for week 22 which is an colour challenge. The image has lots of gorgeous purple/blues/grey/ brown mix, just love it!
Just love the finger action in this photo of Mia, so cute!

June Scrap The Girls

Another great challenge at Scrap the Girls.
For this month you are to create a layout using outdoor photos only.
How easy is that!
I went with some photos of my oldest grand daughter Summah having a ball that the beach with her new boogie board she got for Christmas.
Has you can see I played with paint and mist on the background. Seeing has there were so many photos photos on the page I kept the patterned paper and embellishments to a minimal.
Would love to see you play along at STG :)

Oh My!!!

It has been nearly 2 weeks since I have posted here on my blog. Sometimes other parts of my life are just too busy, wish I could just scrap full time but alas I have to go out to work.
So what do I have to share with you today.
I played along with the sketch part 2 challenge at Stuck?!
I love the sketch so here is my page.
I played with paint and rubons on the background, love the effect I achieved. I used some older photos of my oldest daughter Natasha when she was 3. For some reason the ribbon strip has discoloured, might of been a reaction with the glue and paint.
So what did I use to create this page: Black cardstock, white paint, Pink Paislee Press On's Vintage moon, Basic Grey rubons, Prima Madeline papers, ribbon, flowers, Heidi Swapp plastic alphas, Lil Dais chip shapes, Dymo labels and butterfly punch.
Thanks for stopping by ♥

Scrap The Boys

Getting dirty...yep that is this months challenge over at Scrap the Boys.
Once I saw this I had the perfect photo I wanted to use of my dad.
This photo is a special one to me, I don't have many photos of dad and the few I do have I treasure. Mum captured this when dad was trying to dig out his bogged tractor, and boy was it bogged by the looks of this.
Part of the criteria is to get inspiration from your photo, mine can from all the layers of mud that the tractor has sunk in. So on my page I added lots of layers and distressing. I am very please with the way this turned out.
I used: Papers: Chatterbox, GCD Studios, Adorn it, Cosmo Cricket, Little Yellow Bicycle & Fancy Pants, black cardstock, A Piece of Cake button, old book page, Ruby Rock-it die cut narrative, Lil Davis rubber tab, journaling spot, string, Memory Greeting rubons, SEI rubons, Tim Holz Ideaology mask, mists, Adorn it sticker, 7 Gypsies stickers, buttons and thread.

Scrap For Help

I played along with this months challenge at Scrap for Help. The rule to play along is to use recycled material, this rule is fixed and you have to use the nominated item to be in the draw.
So this month's recycled item is old envelopes.
Now I thought have I kept any old envelopes or not, I turned my craft room upside down [well nearly] to find at least one...and guess what I had one and it was a kraft envelope...woohoo!!!
So this is the page I create...
I layered lots of paper [mind you these were sitting on my desk], and you see my envelope I have one of the photo partially tucked into it. That is my youngest son, these photos were taken a few years back, when he wasn't too camera shy and did sort of smile nicely.
Adding layers to a page certainly does use up lots of your stash and to think these were all scraps sitting on my desk, it feel good to use up lots of scraps.
I used: Brown cardstock, Basic Grey Boxer paper, Fancy pants headed South paper, Adorn it Chocolate Paisley paper, GCD Studio Serenity paper, Little Yellow Bicycle Teal Dots paper, envelope [old], string, P.etc sticker, Prima mask, ink, Star: date die cut & ticket, metal heart, shipping tag, Pink Paislee Holly Doodle alpha stickers, staples, Heidi Swapp: plastic heart, star and chip stars, journaling spots & tag, clip and 7 Gypsies sticker.

You Bring Me Joy

Natalie Elphinstone is guest DT at Soul Scrappers this month and her challenge is all about using your own handwriting on your layout. Now I hate my handwriting so I don't use it very much at all. So this challenge really scared me. I created my page [minus journaling] and then I just had lots of trouble getting that handwritten journaling down on the page...what if I stuffed it up...what if I miss spell a word...what if I didn't like what I wrote...yep I know a lot of what ifs!!!!
So I bit the bullet and wrote what I wanted on a scrap piece of paper, even traced around my paper so what I wrote fitted neatly...yep I know I am paranoid aren't I, and away I wrote.
So anyway here is the page that I created for Natalie's challenge.
Well my handwriting isn't that bad is it?
I love red and kraft colours together. I love the circle photos too for something a bit different.
What I used: MME Life Stories, Cosmo Cricket Circa, Graphic 45 papers, pom pom & daisy trim, leather bookplate, Heidi Swapp heart, chipboard heart, ink, string, Kaiser paint, Making Memories brads, Queen & Co brads, dimensional magic, D-lish butterfly, Basic Grey alpha stickers, K & Co alpha letters and pen.
I am really happy with all the comments that everyone is leaving here and on Facebook, thanks you so much I really do appreciate the lovely comments you are all leaving ♥

I Got An

email today and
it looks like I might finally have one of my layout published...woohoo!
I nearly feel off my chair, I just sat and stared at the email for ages...please pinch me I still can't believe it!

Just Because

I wanted to create a page for no reason, it felt good :)
Sometimes I sit and think I should really be creating more of these pages. I think creating without the pressure of meeting deadline and using criteria to a specification is good.
So this is my 'just because' page...

Love these colours together, will have to use them again :) The photo is my 2 youngest munchkins when Zoe was 2 and Brett was 6 months old.
Thanks for stopping by ♥
Sorry everyone but this layout has been selected for publication, well I got an email today saying they liked it and to send it in for them to decide ♥♥♥

Scrap The Girls

This months challenge is up at Scrap The Girls.
So what is the criteria, well you have to use this quote...
"Having a sister is like having a best friend you can't get rid of. You know whatever you do they will still be there" - Amy Li
A while ago I was lucky enough to be able to scan some older photos from my mums stash. The photo I used was one of these, had to laugh at the dorky hats my sister and I are wearing. My mum always made us wear hats when we were little and yes that is a rabbit I am holding, it was my pet.
At first I had lots of trouble getting this page to come together but after walking away and not looking at it for a day I got it all together. So here is my page for the May challenge.
So close ups...
So what did I use: October Afternoon 'Picnic table' paper, Prima Madeline & Annalee paper, D-lish buttons, crotchet doilies, Candy eye magic button, Elle's Studio journal tag, string, Kaiser paint, glimmermist, Prima mask, ink, Sar date die cut, ticket, Heidi Grace pin, alpha stickers, Dymo, Basic Grey brads, D-lish butterfly & embroidery flowers.Would so love to see you play along, there are some great prizes up for grabs so pop on over to Scrap The Girls ♥

On Holidays

I have been on holidays now for over 2 weeks [only have 9 days left] and I have only created a few pages...gosh what am I thinking doing all these maintenance jobs around the house I should be scrapping my heart out.
I do have a few digital pages to share here...
First up is my page for the last Quote Challenge I will be posting over at Soul Scrappers has I have stepped down as DT, so when this challenge finishes so does my time as being part of a fantastic team. The close date is 21st May.
The quote is: Sometimes the path you're on is not as important as the direction you're heading.  ~Kevin Smith

Here are a few more pages that I created for challenges at Soul Scrappers.
Ok I think I have overloaded you with images so I will say thanks for stopping by ♥

I Don't Know

if my scrapping mojo has returned to it's fullest yet but I created this page over the last 2 days for this month's challenge at Scrap The Boys. The criteria is the use some form of re-cycled packaging. Well after looking through all my bits and pieces I decided to just use part of a pizza box [yep I know not very exciting hey].
So here is my page...
Sorry the photo of the layout isn't too good has I took it a bit late. I played with a stencil and glimmermist on the background, really need a larger stencil so it goes over the whole page, but this is ok I think.
My re-cycled cardboard has you can see is the matting on the photos and some punched out hearts scattered around the page.
So what did I use: Basic Grey Oliver papers, cardboard, K & Co Rough & Tumble tag, glimmermist, stencil, heart & star punch, file tabs, plywood heart, string, buttons, Purple Pumpkin cog, Washi tape, Sassafras sticker,  Crete Paper phases stickers, Carolee's Creation mini alphas, P.etc cardstock stickers.
So I really don't know if my mojo has returned, not sure! Thanks for stopping by ♥

Gosh...

It has been a while since I have posted. I have been away for a short holiday, went to Stanthorpe to visit my mum then a 7.5hour drive to Moura to visit my oldest son. I loved seeing my family and catching up, wish I could of spent longer with them.
But since I have been home my scrapping mojo has gone bye-bye...much to my disgust :(
I do have one page to share with you all, I created this before I went away.
Over at Soul Scrappers they have a Soul Scrappers Quest that is run on regular bases.
What is SSQ you ask?
For everyone that signs up [limited spaces available] they receive a small packet of goodies to use, you can create a layout, OTP or cards. So the goodies that Karen sent out for SSQ12 were of a travel theme. When I saw them I knew I wanted to scrap a page from one of our Bali trips. This photo was taken a few years ago on our second visit to Bali, Brett and Zoe in front of the Hard Rock cafe Bali.
Now the bag of goodies included a quote, a piece of denim, ribbon, brads, die cut shape [film strip], 3 travel embellishments, a small piece of double sided paper and some cork. Well the cork really had me in a spin...a what am I going to create spin, I have never used cork before on a layout. Also has you can see I used up some of my older items as well, the background paper and alphas.
Here are a few close up shots...
So I decided to cut up and punch out shapes out of the cork. To give the page a little bit more interest, the little punched out circles of cork and paper, I scattered to give the page a visual flow line. It felt good to experiment with something different.
Thanks so much for stopping by ♥
